Question: Our building is looking for a new Facilities Director. Is there any problem with including the following language in our advertisement? “Facilities Director sought to conduct minor equipment/building repairs (either routine or emergency) including carpentry, plumbing and electrical.”
Answer: Yes there is. Conducting minor equipment/building repairs (either routine or emergency) to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, basic refrigeration and HVAC would be proof that you plan to engage in the practice of a licensed electrician, without a license in violation of MGL c. 141 §1A. The same could apply to plumbing. Posting this ad could subject you to an investigation by the state licensing agency.
